Tasting notes
Sangiovese is the classic red wine of Central Italy. The great wines of Tuscany, including Brunello, Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, and Chianti Classico are made with the Sangiovese grape. Wilridge 2008 Sangiovese is sourced from the End of the Road Vineyard on Red Mountain. Veteran Red Mountain winegrower Scott Williams tends the vines. The heat loving Sangiovese is at home on Red Mountain, one of the hottest vineyards in the State. The wine is ripe and fruity, but the contrasting acidity of the Sangiovese grapes provides balance. Enjoy it with your favorite pasta, good friends, and a Sophia Loren movie.
