1998 Klipsun Vineyard Merlot $29
The 1998 Klipsun Merlot continues a string of "90 point" vintages. The 1997 was the Wine Enthusiast's favorite Washington red wine (91 points), and they called the 1996 one of the "Best American Merlots" (92 points). Buy the 1998 before the ratings come out and it sells out.

1998 Klipsun Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon $29

As in previous years, Klipsun Cabernet is a serious wine with long term aging potential. The Wine Enthusiast gave it 90 points and described it at follows: "Klipsun fruit is known for its firm tannins, iron and mineral elements, dark fruit and sturdy age-worthiness. It's a complex wine, which, despite its youth, shows a wonderful range of flavors, from black cherry to coffee to steel and smoke. The iron and acids and tannin are there to age, but it drinks beautifully right now, so why wait?"

1998 Spring Valley Vineyard Merlot $24
Our first single vineyard Merlot from Spring Valley Vineyard in the Walla Walla Valley appellation. Here is what the Wine Enthusiast said: "89 points. This is a lovely, full, fragrant and fruity nose, with accents of Provencal herbs and spices adding interest. There's a nice mix of cocoa, coffee and toast in the finish, and it's a balanced, trim, well-made bottle of wine that puts the emphasis on subtlety over power."

1998 Corral Creek Vineyards Pinot Noir $29
The 1998 vintage is the greatest vintage in Oregon since the famed 1994 harvest. Our 1998 Pinot Noir from the Corral Creek Vineyard in Oregon's Willamette Valley is typical of the vintage, with big, ripe fruit flavors. It's like Pinot Noir trying to be Cabernet. Here is what the Wine Spectator says: "90 points. Ripe, exotic style weaves threads of chocolate, coffee and Oriental spices throughout the cherry and black currant flavors on a supple frame. Has the length, intensity and polished tannins to warrant cellaring."

1998 Klipsun Vineyard Nebbiolo $19
Our first Italian varietal! This wine has the brick red color and hearty tannins one expects from Nebbiolo, together with a delightful aroma of rose petals.
